gifts

For some of you, it is not too soon to start thinking about gift ideas for the upcoming holidays. Because our clients are in the never-ending world of continual learning (as we all are), think about a gift that is fun as well as educational.

Mile High Down Syndrome Association (http://www.mhdsa.org/) suggests several things on their website. They also mention that Toys R Us publishes a Toy Guide for Differently Abled Kids. You can find it at www.ToysRUs.com/DifferentlyAbled/. Divided by age, gender, and learning categories.

Supported Living Services Survey

// September 10th, 2009 // News That Affects You, Uncategorized

As you know all too well, the questions and issues that have surfaced in the last two months about changes to the SLS waiver continue to abound. As advocates, we believe that we need more information than we currently have to ensure that we are doing the best possible job for those who call us for help or just with questions.

Chapters of The Arc in Colorado developed a simple survey for SLS families and individuals. Please forward the survey to as many people you know who are or have a family member enrolled in SLS.

We’re using Survey Monkey and have the system set up so that only one response per computer and one response per e-mail address will be collected. So, if people get multiple e-mails with the survey link—they can only respond once.

We know that the results won’t be scientifically sound but we think we will be able to get some useful information to inform our advocacy efforts.

Click on the link below and complete the survey. Results are anonymous. It takes about 15 minutes to complete the survey.
