Ability Specialists’ ARC Work Crew Welcomes Bonny!

It's official, Bonny is joining our ARC Work Crew! Bonny has been with ability specialists since the very beginning and has grown with us into an exciting new role! As a member of the paid work crew, Bonny will be putting all the tools and skills she has learned during her time at ability specialists to good use in the next step towards independent living! Bonny has shown impressive personal growth during her time with us. Her passion for her work and connection with peers has helped her develop into an invaluable teammate and an amazing independent worker. Bonny isn’t done yet though, she’s still striving for unequivocal excellence everyday! As a new ambassador, the backbone of ARC, Bonny will continue honing her skills alongside ARC employees and her new peers while learning new tasks. Bonny is learning how to put out new inventory and assist the production team to help the company thrive! Bonny’s next goal is learning how to manage her money to allow her to pursue her passion for art and live more freely.

When asked what Bonny is most excited about, she said she’s looking forward to working with her friends and learning how to budget her money! As part of her personal and financial growth plan, Bonny has been learning more about Social Security income and how it impacts her earnings. Understanding SSI and how to balance income with benefits is an essential step toward financial independence. This is just the latest skill Bonny has been working with our staff to better understand. It’s been a long road to get to where she is today. With the support of her family and our team, Bonny has been gaining the knowledge, life skills and coping tools to confidently navigate professional life with a disability and thrive in whatever situation life throws her way.
